Competitive Teams

This exciting opportunity gives Center Stage dancers the chance to be a part of a team and work towards a goal of competing at large dance competitions during our dance season. Dancers must audition to earn a spot on a competition team which go to at least two competitions a year. Competitive dance students can miss no more than 3 classes per school year and MUST enroll in second weekly class. *Space is limited*. Parents must also sign a commitment contract.

The Lake City Dancers

The Lake City Dancers are a performance team coached by CS's director Heather Van Arsdel. This team is hand selected and comprised of Center Stage dancers ages 13-18 years old. They learn and perfect routines and perform them all over the North Country. Some of their appearances include; The Biggest Loser Run/Walk, Relay for Life, Elks club charity event, First Weekends, Mayor's Cup, Local Senior homes, Lumber Jills Bouts, Imaginarium fundraiser etc. They also serve as ambassadors for Center Stage.

The Lake City Kids

The Lake City Kids are a performance team coached by CS's director Heather Van Arsdel. The team is comprised of Center Stage male and female dancers ages 6-12 years old. They learn and perfect routines and perform them all over the North Country. They also doubled as the Westchester Knicks Kids G-League (NBA) performing at home games in Westchester, NY for 5 seasons. Some of their appearances include; The Biggest Loser Run/Walk, Relay for Life, Elks club charity event, First Weekends, Mayor's Cup, Local Senior homes, Lumber Jills Bouts, Imaginarium fundraiser and Westchester Knicks games. They also serve as ambassadors for Center Stage.

The Lake City Breakers

The "Lake City Breakers" are a performance team coached by Roy Lancaster. The team is comprised professionally trained breakers 8-18 years old. They learn and perfect intricate breaking routines and perform them all over the Champlain Valley. It's a wonderful, nurturing environment that helps build confidence, performance and leadership skills.

The Lake City Players

The Lake City Players are a group of talented youth between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. Students will have fun dancing, singing, and acting in this advanced Musical Theater Troupe class. This class will be invited to perform out in the community at different venues and events throughout the school year.

Team Requirements

Each dancer is required to take a minimum of TWO dance classes per week. One class is the "performance team" class. The second required class is BALLET. It's encouraged they take a third class of their choice, but it's optional.
Dancers will be required to purchase a team uniform/costume.
Center Stage's exclusive performance team members must always be in good standing with the studio. This includes accounts being up to date and policies are minded.
Dancers must be on time.
Dancers should not miss class.
Dancer must have a positive attitude.
Dancer should practices choreography outside of class and makes the performance team a priority over other activities.
Lake City Juniors, Lake City Kids, Lake City Dancers perform locally year-round throughout the region!
